You are enough.

Isn’t it time to start feeling like it?

Women’s Therapist in New Jersey & New York

You can’t even remember a time when you didn’t feel like this. It’s like you’re hardwired to overthink and overanalyze. It’s annoying and exhausting and you’re ready for a change.

I’m Heather, and I help women just like you: ones that are ready for personal growth and transformation, but just need the support to get there.

I help my clients feel calm, confident and connected by equipping them with the tools they need to disarm harmful thinking, develop helpful coping skills, and build confidence in who they are.

How therapy with me is different

Some therapies are only focused on exactly how you’re feeling right now, rather than seeing you as the whole woman that you are. I know that you, your circumstances and experiences are unique, so I will meet you right where you are today and support you from there. I’ll never push you further than you’re ready to go, but will be here as your cheerleader, to challenge you when necessary and support you through the hard moments.

My top priority is for you to feel connected with me.

Without that, change can be difficult.

First, we establish a therapeutic relationship that helps you feel safe and honored in the therapy space. Building connection is important.

Connect

Then we start to explore the areas and issues that are getting in your way. We’ll start seeing what’s underneath it all.

Concerns

Once we start to uncover the roots of the issue, we work toward resolving them in ways that are most effective for you.

Correct and Cope

You’ll begin to see changes in your thinking patterns, mood, relationships and overall sense of self.

Change

I’m dedicated to helping women feel comfortable showing up as their authentic selves.

My specialties in anxiety, self-esteem, and relationships means that I have the expertise you need and deserve for you to beat feeling overwhelmed and build self-confidence. But at the end of the day, you want to know you’re working with someone who “gets” what it means to overthink, feel inhibited, and fear judgment and criticism.

Clients come to me because I get it. I would never ask a client to go somewhere that I haven’t gone myself. I know what it’s like to feel inadequate and insecure. I understand feeling like the weight of the world is on your shoulders or the awful feeling you get when you might let people down. So when we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist. You’ll get someone who truly understands what you’re going through. You’ll get someone who has not only been right where you are, but has also done the work to overcome these challenges.

What therapy with me is like

Clients would say that I am compassionate, understanding, and put them at ease with my light-hearted and down-to-earth nature. This is a pressure-free zone, so crying and laughing are both equally welcome in this space. (Even the occasional cuss can find its way into sessions here and there. LOL!) You can come to session, just as you are, with whatever is going on for you at that moment and know that I won’t ask you to “perform” for me. You can let your guard down and just be yourself. Afterall, that’s at the heart of the work we do.

I know how important it is to be working with a therapist that is the right fit for you, and I realize I might not be everyone’s “cup of tea”. That’s ok! If I am not a match for you, I am always happy to refer you to another awesome counselor in my network!

Remember, it's a matter of being yourself on PURPOSE.

I want you to honor your needs as much as I do.

I offer a Christian Perspective/Worldview for those who desire it.

Let’s take a moment to dive into this.

I am a counselor that is a Christian. I am not a Christian Counselor.

That might sound confusing.

My goal is to delicately integrate psychology and spirituality on whatever level you need and that is most comfortable for you.

As a counselor that is Christian, I can provide therapy to anyone, even if you don’t consider yourself religious or spiritual. It’s not something that has to be a part of the work that we do.
